CFA Announces Summer Meeting in Stowe, VT

Mt. Vernon, Iowa (February 28, 2007) -- The Concrete Foundations Association (CFA) – an international association dedicated to improving the quality and acceptance of cast-in-place concrete foundations – will gather for their annual summer meeting in Stowe, Vt. from July 24-26 at the Stoweflake Resort.

The CFA annual meeting is the premier education and networking opportunity for the poured wall industry. Contractors from coast-to-coast gather to discuss the latest trends, achievements and successes as well as focus on ways to improve their business environments. CFA members concentrate on building lasting relationships that make a difference in their business during this four-day event geared towards both management and construction.

This year’s event will have an increased focus on how to improve the management of your business and position your company for growth in today’s changing market conditions. Seminars will be held Friday and Saturday morning with roundtable discussions in the afternoon. An exhibitor reception will be held Friday evening. In addition to these offerings, an equipment rodeo is being planned that will give attendees the opportunity to view outdoor demonstrations and have hands-on experience with today’s top equipment.

The largest attraction and success of this event each year is the power of networking.  Several opportunities will also be available at the meeting for members to learn more about each other and their businesses including social functions each evening and roundtables during the day dedicated to gathering as an industry.

Education remains a key focus along with networking at the CFA summer event.  This year’s event will include seminars on GPS Equipment Tracking—From Costly to Money Maker in One Year; Robotic Layout Technology—Effective Implementation to Gain Efficiency and Quality; Finding Alternative Markets When Residential Work Becomes Lean; and Evaluating Mix Designs To Optimize Performance and Price.

Benefits of Poured Concrete Walls
Lower level living is already one of the soundest investments one can make in their home. When poured concrete is selected, the owner benefits from a durable structure that offers many benefits as compared to other systems including energy performance, water tightness, durability, fire endurance, design flexibility and construction cost. About the CFA

The CFA was established in 1974 for the purpose of improving the quality and acceptance of cast-in-place concrete foundations. CFA provides promotional materials, educational seminars, opportunities for networking, and technical meetings for members in 26 states and Canada. The CFA also represents the interests of its members and the industry on several code and regulatory bodies, such as the American Concrete Institute’s committee responsible for the creation of the "Residential Concrete Standard." Once complete, this standard will likely be adopted by the UBC, CABO and other building codes. The CFA has several of its members on the ACI committee responsible for this document and will endeavor to ensure that the interests of the foundation contractors are considered.
