CIFA USA Introduces the Next Generation of 31 and 36 Meter Boom Pumps
Yorkville, Wisconsin (August 14, 2006) -- CIFA USA Introduces to the United States market the new generation of 31 and 36 meter boom pumps. Although it seemed impossible, CIFA has further improved its Metro 31, now K31, and its K3Z, now K36.

The restyling of the next generations of 31 and 36 meters has been based on previous models’ field experience as well as other equipment features such as the K41 and K48. Both Boom Pump have outstanding improvements; however they have kept some of their unique features such as the 5th section continuous rotor on the K31.
Some of the features include:
K31 and K36
- The boom has been entirely restyled and upgraded based on the latest calculations used by the FEM (Finite Element Method) structural analysis software
- The hinges on the cylinders and the rods have been separated which improves boom articulation performance while simplifying pin and bushing access and maintenance
- The turret configuration has been restyled into a straight 90 degree angle in order to improve weight distribution. Also, under-turret portholes have been made bigger in order to facilitate access to the pipelines for assembly, maintenance and inspection
- Several sections of the pipeline have been bolted instead of welded in order to facilitate maintenance, prevent torsion which extends the life of the components making it cost efficient
- The two separate safety valves, have been replaced by a single, dual se3ction safety valve on the boom cylinders which make the assembly of the boom simpler, reduces maintenance cost and time by reducing the number of hydraulic connections
- The water pump has been relocated to allow for easier assembly and maintenance in cold weather conditions
- The new hydraulic fluid system e3xchanger improves oil cooling and reduces the risk of oil contamination and high temperatures
- The upgraded pump frame allows for better weight distribution and smaller stabilization area
- Front Support for the pumping unit was increased in order to minimize any stress on seals and rod guides
- The new aluminum casing increases resistance to corrosion and improves maintenance
- The outrigger lubricating distributor has been relocated to facilitate access and maintenance
- The anti-rotation devices for pins have been upgraded in order to facilitate access to the articulated joins as well as their maintenance.
K36
- The unfolding height has decreased from 29’6” to 27’6”
K31
- The K31 has retained the popular 5th section continuous rotor as well as its impressive 18’8” unfolding height
The new generation of K31 and K36 truck-mounted boom pumps have been engineered keeping in mind an operator friendly configuration which facilitates access to components, simplifies maintenance and lowers the cost and time invested in inspections.
CIFA USA is headquartered in Yorkville, Wisconsin (just south of Milwaukee) and is a recognized worldwide manufacturer and distributor of concrete management products. For over 38 years, CIFA has been in the forefront of design and technology of truck-mounted concrete boom pumps.
