The place is The Resort at the Mountain on the west slope of Mount Hood in western Oregon. Mount Hood has not erupted for several centuries and no activity is expected in the near future (geologically speaking).

If you are looking for more adventure, within an hour you can white water raft on the acclaimed Deschutes River or windsurf on the Columbia River.
