Summer Meeting Location Announced

Set aside August 1-3, for that matter set aside an entire week, for the CFA Summer Meeting 2002. When you visit this area you will want to stay as long as you can. The place is The Resort at the Mountain on the west slope of Mount Hood in western Oregon. Mount Hood has not erupted for several centuries and no activity is expected in the near future (geologically speaking).

There are a multitude of outdoor experiences and activities awaiting your attention in and around this resort. This is located just 45 minutes east of Portland and is a short day trip from the beautiful Columbia River valley (a must see) and the old lodge near the top of Mount Hood.

Yes, there is golf on premises (its hard to avoid a resort without it) but there are also tennis courts, year-round skiing (20 minutes away), a fitness center, swimming pool, and of course, two croquet lawns and a lawn bowling court (wouldn't want to go anywhere without croquet lawns). You can rent bicycles and other sporting necessities. The dining is reported to be superb and surrounding the resort are streams (fly fishing anyone?), and maintained forest hiking trails. If you are looking for more adventure, within an hour you can white water raft on the acclaimed Deschutes River or windsurf on the Columbia River.

Looking for relaxation? If you ever wanted to take one of those vacations where you just do nothing but enjoy the scenery, this is the place. Call 800-669-7666 to make your reservations. There are only 160 rooms but there are a variety of accommodation types. Don't wait until the last minute or you could find yourself down the road at the local motel.
