The Year 2000 is the 25th Anniversary of the Concrete Foundations Association (formerly the Poured Wall Contractors Association). Events and displays honoring past presidents, association founders, and the history of the forming industry will take place throughout the meetings and during Friday's awards luncheon.

Several other events will make your attendance at this special event well worth the trip.

EMPHASIS ON EDUCATION
Management and the Board decided to break from the round table format of the past several years and offer several seminar/lectures for 2000. The seminar format and longer presentation period allow a greater depth of treatment for the respective subject. Friday will feature Doug Staebler, a popular presenter from the past two years. Doug is Chief Financial Officer of Custom Concrete. His presentation will be "Ten Sure Fire Ways to Reduce Your Income Taxes." Charles Engelken, president of Wall Ties and Forms, will make a presentation on "Profit Sharing."

The final session on Friday will feature the history of the CFA presented by Bob Sawyer, the first Executive Director of the Association. Brent Anderson, the popular presenter of the CFA's Foundation Fundamentals seminars and a regular presenter at the World of Concrete and Ward Malisch, Editorial Director and Engineering Manager for Concrete Construction magazine will be the featured technical speakers.

Saturday, Brent will make a presentation on Chemicals, The Environment, and their effect on Concrete Surfaces. Ward Malisch will elaborate on studies performed in their labs on topics such as "How Clean Must Rebar Be" and "A New Look at Water, Slump, and Shrinkage" and will discuss testing funded by the CFA Foundation.

TRADE SHOW
Last year over 25 national associates exhibited at the summer meeting. We expect 25-30 exhibitors this year. Two set viewing periods have been established for exhibits - There will be indoor exhibition during Thursday night's reception from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. There will be time and space for outdoor exhibit viewing of equipment and systems on Friday afternoon from 1:00 pm- 3:00 pm.
