New CFA Web Site

The Concrete Foundations Association recently unveiled its new web site located at http://www.cfawalls.org. Upon initial inspection the site won’t look a lot different than the one hosted on the Concrete Supernetwork. In fact, it is the same site – with updates. The biggest difference you will notice is the method used to access the site. Instead of accessing the Supernetwork site and then working your way through the menus to the associations area, and eventually to the CFA site, you can now type the CFA’s URL (Uniform Resource Locator) listed above and voila, you are at the CFA home page.

Behind the scenes it will much easier for CFA management to access, change, update, and add new features to the site. Changes in addresses, etc. can be made and viewed almost immediately instead of waiting several days or weeks for changes to be viewable.

It was always the intention of CFA to have its own locally hosted site but the change in ownership at Aberdeen bought about a change in philosophy for the Concrete Supernetwork. The result was the Aberdeen backed away from hosting sites for concrete associations. The CFA and other associations were give until this April to find a new home for their sites.

Plans for the future include a news section, on-line registration for future events, and a bulletin board service.

The Concrete Supernetwork is still a valuable web site. The emphasis, however, will be in information and news. All of back issues of Concrete Construction and may other useful resources are available through the Supernetwork and access to these services will still be provided as a member benefit in CFA.
